SOFTWARES AND TOOLS

LEAN (Linear Elastic ANalyzer)

Is a free linear-elastic structural analysis solver for 2D structures. The simple and intuitive interface allows to input the structure geometry, elements sections, load cases and combinations. You can easily derive the M, N, V and displacement diagrams of the structure. Results can be exported easily and postprocessed in common environment as Excel.

TTV - Thickness Toughness Validator

TTV is a software made available and developed by Steligence Engineering (ArcelorMittal). The first version has been released as a BETA since July 2023. It is freely downloadable. It is a simple, intuitive, and fast tool for validating steel construction details according to the prescriptions and requirements contained in the EN 1993-1-10 standards. These standards, to prevent brittle collapse of steel details, impose maximum detail thicknesses depending on material, temperature, and load level.

STRAIN.composite

Is a tool dedicated to advanced studies of steel-concrete composite beams. A first module allows for cross-section fibre study including the relative strain slip st the materials interface. The plastic resistant bending moment can be derived easily as well as moment-curvature diagrams and Partial Shear Diagrams. A second module allows, knowing the composite cross section model, to use an advanced method for the assessment of the behavior of the overall member. This is currently implemented for simply supported elements. Distributions of the slip, shear flow and displacements can be derived. A one-dimensional finite differences method is used.
